My Personal Ministry Mission Statement
I am a Man of God, a sinner who has been forgiven and made righteous by my Faith in God (Romans 4:1-12); redeemed with the blood of the Son of God, our Lord Jesus Christ (1 Peter 1:18-19) who gives me salvation (Romans 5:10-11); sanctified by the Holy Spirit that dwells within me (1 Corinthians 6:11); granted grace for my faith (Ephesians 2:4-10) in His eternal Trinity (Matthew 28:19). I am called to serve His Church, to minister to His Saints, and to teach His Holy Priesthood through the proclamation of His Word, the Gospel of Jesus Christ (1 Thessalonians 2: 1-16). The Lord my God has placed in my mind a vision for the future of His Church (Acts 2:42-47), on my heart a desire to make disciples of this nation (Matthew 28:19-20), and in my soul the desire to defend the reasons for the hope that is in all His faithful (1 Peter 3:14-16), and to support all His people in doing the same (1 Thessalonians 5:9-11). All of this for the ultimate goal of bringing glory to God in the highest, so that every knee may bow, and every tongue confess (Isaiah 45:23, Romans 14:11-12), that Jesus Christ is Lord (Philippians 2:10-11).
My Ministry Vision and Call
Over the last 6 years I have come to answer the call to give myself to dedicated service to the Lord and ministry to His church. The Lord has touched my heart and stirred my soul to bring to fruition an approach to ministry that He has enlightened my mind with over many years of prayer and inspiration. After continuous humbling over the years, I feel now more than ever that God is calling me to a position of leadership and proclamation so that through those He sets alongside me, He may bring about a vision of ministry that will change the way His people view and understand the modern church organization.
The vision is of a church organization that acts as the provider of spiritual resources to God’s people, seeking to make disciples who are well equipped mentally, emotionally, and physically to spread the gospel. The model He has brought to mind includes an enriching program of small group ministry, Christian Education for adults and youth, and the use of the organization’s facilities for involving church life in all aspects of believers’ day to day life. It includes working with local businesses to aid in finding work for those in need, providing training in the trades for the youth and those who are seeking more fulfilling work, and various programs for increasing and improving the skills and abilities the Lord has provided them.
It expands further into the care for the needy, the widow, and the orphan. Through a focus on providing emergency services and resources for those in need and an active program of receiving donations for food and clothing, the organization will provide for those who have experienced hardship, natural disasters, and loss of work. Through an active child care program and use of youth volunteers, the widow with children can be aided in the care of her little ones, and through other resources, she can be cared for in her times of need. For the orphan and the fatherless child, an active Adult Ministry program will include volunteer opportunities for men to be active in the raising of such young children, and a ministry outreach to aid orphanages, and full support of adoption programs.
Also to reach our post-modern generation and beyond, this vision unites senior with youth in raising disciples of Christ, and raising the church up to the glory of God through an active apologetic engagement with the communities, universities, and businesses that surround us. The educating of the saints, the body of believers, will be a priority, teaching them how to understand the views of the world, how to demonstrate them as lacking, and to give a defense of our way of life in the truth of God’s self-revelation to us. To give a reason for the hope that is in us.
The vision includes a revamping of leadership and staffing oriented toward every staff member serving the church body in their skills and abilities more than the needs of the church organization itself. The staff will be viewed as there to support the needs of the small groups, the parents, and the active lay leadership of the congregation as they conduct their Godly work in their personal ministries. The Pastor acting as mentor and guide to the distributed leadership across the congregation, providing education in shepherding, theological understanding, and Biblical teaching, so that the gospel may be spread beyond the Sunday morning services.
There is much to this vision, and it incorporates the full involvement of members of the congregation in the active personal ministry to be done by every disciple of Christ. We are to be “Force Multipliers” (to borrow a military term) for Christ, edifying leaders from the congregation, and supporting their efforts in primary, the efforts of the pastor in secondary. There is much to be done to achieve this vision for the Lord, and all the glory of its works are for God alone. The model is designed to be easily duplicated with a long term vision of campus multiplication over congregation growth at a single location. A focus on bringing the resources to the church over bringing the church to the resources. Of being the primary source for aid in their time of need over any other organization. I desire only to bring about God’s Will for His church, and I pray daily that He will plant me where he needs me to make this vision a reality to the benefit of His beloved bride.
Personal Ministry Objectives
– To be planted by God in a ministry position as Pastor for a Congregation of God’s Church to preach the Gospel, teach and enlighten, and edify and strengthen them in their spiritual life with Christ.
– To build the vision for the Church God has given to me, and through it, reach the unchurched, the lost, and the broken in order to bring them back to their Lord and Savior and allow the Holy Spirit, through my staff and my self, to provide them with the spiritual resources they need to walk with Christ in the righteousness provided by God’s grace.
– To build an organization for Christian Education to raise the future leaders of the church and to prepare the youth and the adult church for ministry through life by strengthening them mentally, emotionally, and spiritually.
– To be a force multiplier for Christ, making disciples of all the Lord sets before me to His greater Glory and for the benefit of those I serve with my will, life, and love.
