Due to how long ago this was, I estimate the time period to be from about July 2001 till about November 2001. I then took a break to focus on school until about March 2002 and continued working there until sometime during my Senior year of 2002. I then left working there to focus on school.
While working at Pizza Hut, I was a man of many different hats. I worked as a Cook at first, working with two other employees on part time shifts preparing customer orders. I was then tasked with being a Deliverer after other employees left, if I remember correctly. I then started waiting tables as well. During this time, my responsibilities included:
- Taking, Preparing, Cooking, and Fulfilling customer orders.
- Waiting Tables and keeping the store front clean
- Maintaining the kitchen, cleaning dishes and keeping the food inventory in order.
- Delivering customer orders
- Taking orders over the phone and in person.
I learned a wide variety of skills while on this job. These skills included:
- Customer Relations
- Task Management
- Time Management
- Inventory Management
- Communication Skills
- Conflict Management (unsatisfied customers)
- Team Work
- Order Management
- Computer Skills
Given the many different roles that I had to play, I certainly learned how to be flexible, and I greatly enjoyed the working environment. We had a great team there and I still remember my co-workers and manager. The job paid well (minimum wage is great with tips) and when it comes to my ability to work under pressure, I owe a lot of that to the time I spent working here.
